About Orlando
Rev. Orlando Evans is committed to excellence in leadership and service. He enjoys a life of ministry after serving more than 25 years in Corporate America. Within the Financial Services industry, he managed operations projects including a $2 trillion/year electronic federal tax payment system for the United States Department of Treasury. He also led business integration and change management projects as a consultant with Accenture and PWC.
Orlando currently serves as Senior Pastor at Bright Star United Methodist Church in Douglasville, GA. He actively encourages others to be united by faith and defined by love. He initiated several community programs including Coins & Care at a local laundromat and Coffee & Connections at a local diner. Rev. Evans also serves as Chaplain for the Douglas County Board of Commissioners meetings, the National Black MBA Association (Atlanta Chapter), and as 2nd Assistant Chaplain for Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. (Eta Lambda Chapter).
Orlando owns BowTie Photos, LLC and is one of Atlanta’s premier event photography and photobooth operators. His clients include the United Way of Greater Atlanta, Emory University, the Black Data Processors Association (BDPA), and more.
Orlando earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Michigan (Ross School of Business) and a Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Emory University (Candler School of Theology).
He enjoys cooking, cycling, and spending time with his wife Marjorie and children Olivia (15) and Ethan (12).
