Meet the Instructors
Dr. Elizabeth M. Bounds, who joined Candler’s faculty in 1997, is engaged in the Justice, Peacebuilding, and Conflict Transformation Concentration, part of the Master of Divinity degree program at Candler. She also teaches courses as part of the Religion, Conflict, and Peacebuilding Concentration in Emory’s Graduate Division of Religion.
The Rev. Dr. Danielle Tumminio Hansen joined the Candler faculty in 2021. Prior to arriving at Candler, she was assistant professor of pastoral theology and served as director of field education at Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas, where she taught courses on trauma, practical theology, and pastoral theology, with a feminist, intersectional, and anti-racist lens. Tumminio Hansen has been a lecturer at Yale and Tufts universities, in addition to serving as chaplain at Groton School and as a parish priest in Lexington, Lincoln, and Quincy, Massachusetts.
Tamara is an educator, post-graduate fellow, researcher, and public theologian. She has served in education, business, and ministry leadership for over 18 years, blending her love for people, pedagogy, and creative arts into serving and growing a variety of communities, including co-founding an anti-racism institute. She is a doctoral student of social ethics at the International Baptist Theological Studies Center via Vrije Universiteit- Amsterdam and holds a Master of Theology from Emory’s Candler School of Theology and a Master of Arts in Ministry Leadership from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary.
