About Alex
Alex Revelle is a native of Durham, NC, and a product of the Durham Public School System.
A Magna Cum Laude graduate of North Carolina A&T State University, Alex majored in Journalism and Mass Communication with a concentration in Broadcast Production. After working in the marketing and journalism field for several years, and taking time to discern his vocation in life, Alex recognized his passion in life was combining social justice and technology with theology. Upon recognizing this new direction in his life, he applied and was accepted into seminary school at Candler School of Theology located at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.
During his time at Candler, Alex served as president of the Black Student Caucus and held an array of internships and positions as a graduate student focused on ministry within economically deprived areas in Atlanta. Prior to graduating with his Master of Divinity Degree, Alex was the recipient of Candler’s John W. Rustin Prophetic Preaching award and the contextual education award. He was also recognized and highlighted by Emory University as one of 10 outstanding graduates in the graduating class of 2021.
Alex currently serves as the Young People Division Minister at Cascade United Methodist Church located in Atlanta, GA. Under the direction of Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. Kevin Murriel, Alex oversees the nursery, children, youth, and young adult ministries. During his time serving in this role, he has recognized his passion and the positive response found in combining technology, with theology within the young people division ministries. Alex is currently a candidate on the elder ordination track in the North Georgia Conference.
