Trauma and the Sacred Text

This module introduces participants to the foundations of trauma-informed care and invites a deeper engagement with Scripture through the lens of human suffering, resilience, and restoration. Learners will explore core principles of trauma-informed ministry, develop a framework for reading the Bible with attentiveness to trauma, and examine major categories of trauma present throughout the biblical narrative. Special attention is given to the life of Jesus Christ, considering how His experiences reflect trauma, compassion, and redemptive response. Through this integrated approach, participants will be equipped to engage both Scripture and ministry contexts with greater sensitivity, theological depth, and pastoral care.
