Assistant Director of Community Learning and Partnerships

Donnell A. Williamson, Jr. is the Assistant Director of Community Learning and Partnerships for The Candler Foundry. In this role, Donnell works with churches, communities, and scholars to imagine new approaches to public theological education through The Candler Foundry’s Courses in the Community and Foundations in Faith & Leadership programs.  Donnell holds a BA in Sociology from Morehouse College, an MDiv from Candler School of Theology at Emory University, and is completing his PhD at Brown University, exploring the ways faith and suffering overlap and inform each other in the writings of Frederick Douglass and Søren Kierkegaard. A native of Shelby, NC, Donnell enjoys time with his wife, writing, playing tennis, and having thought-provoking conversations over savory meals with friends.
